This SEMA-tuned Ford Maverick is expensive, yet stock under the hood

The latest version of the petite Ford Maverick pickup can be obtained for around $25,000 if you ditch the expensive trim options. The one in the photos here is up for grabs right now with the sticker saying $85,000 – and it’s all show and no extra go.

The price can be partially justified by the fact that it was a collaboration between several aftermarket vendors, including Leif Johnson Ford, Saleen Performance Parts, JBL Audio, Toyo Tires, and 3D Carbon. The result was exhibited at the SEMA tuning show two years ago.

The first thing you notice is an eye-catching, sleek body kit that goes well with a custom livery in a greenish blue tint. The stock wheels are gone, replaced with 22-inch TSW Daytona rims wrapped in low-profile tires, and the suspension is air-cushioned for extra fashion points.

The interior looks more or less standard. Where things get interesting again is the bed, which houses a quartet of JBL outdoor-use speakers normally installed on yachts and motorboats. There is a tire compressor nearby, too.

As far as the powertrain is concerned, there is a custom Magnaflow exhaust system installed and a tuning prep kit from Cobb. This means the truck can be experimented with in the future, but it is being sold with a stock hybrid system still churning out its usual 194 PS (191 hp / 143 kW).
