2025 Mitsubishi ASX bows in Europe

The refreshed ASX looks more like a Mitsubishi vehicle but still runs on the same platform as the Renault Captur.

Compared to the original, it has a distinct radiator grille and a large trapezoid air intake in the front bumper. The rear end is also mildly different with an imitated diffuser and large “Mitsubishi” lettering, but that’s about all.

Inside, everything looks the same except for the infotainment UI and the steering wheel emblem. The multimedia display is 10.4 inches large and the digital dashboard makes do with a smaller 7-inch screen. Like the Captur, though, the ASX can be optioned with a 10.25-inch dash display. The car also connects to Google services straight from the factory now.

In its entry-level version, the new ASX packs a turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 91 PS (90 hp / 67 kW) and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) of torque, as well as a six-speed MT.

There are also two mild-hybrid options. Both are based on the same 1.3-liter engine, but the MT version produces 140 PS (138 hp / 103 kW) and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft), while the seven-speed DCT version is slightly ahead of it with 158 PS (156 hp / 116 kW) and 270 Nm (200 lb-ft) heading for the wheels.

Rounding off the lineup is a three-motor hybrid with 143 PS (141 hp / 105 kW) at its disposal and up to 900 km (559 miles) of range.

The production will take place at a Renault factory in Spain. The company hopes to launch it in May.
